Duration (minutes)

The Pomodoro timer helps you work with the interval technique: a focus session, a short break and, after every four focus sessions, a long break. The defaults are 25, 5 and 15 minutes, and you can change each duration in the settings. When a phase ends a beep sounds and the next one can start on its own. The time is calculated against the clock, so it does not drift when the tab is in the background, and the tab title shows the countdown. You can also open a compact floating window that stays on top of other applications in Chrome and Edge. Everything runs in your browser.

How to use it

  1. Press Start to begin the focus phase, or pick another phase with the tabs.
  2. Work until the beep sounds; the timer moves on to the matching break by itself.
  3. Adjust the durations, the automatic start and the sound in the settings panel if you need to.
  4. Press Open floating window to see the time in a small window while you use other applications.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Pomodoro technique?
It is a time management method that alternates focused work blocks with short breaks and, after several blocks, a long break, to keep your attention up and avoid fatigue.
How long is each phase?
By default, 25 minutes of focus, 5 of short break and 15 of long break, which comes after four focus sessions. You can change the durations in the settings.
Why does the floating window not always stay on top?
Only desktop Chrome and Edge allow an always-on-top window. Other browsers open a regular popup, which can end up behind other windows, and the tool warns you about it.
Is my data saved?
Only the durations, the automatic start and the sound are saved, in your browser. The timer state is not saved and nothing is sent to any server.
