The interval timer helps you work out with rounds of work and rest. In Classic mode you set the preparation, the round, the rest and the number of rounds; in Tabata mode you add tabatas, a rest between them and a final cool-down. Each phase has its own background color, a GO appears at the start of every round, and beeps sound in the last three seconds and at every phase change. You can pick one of three countdown views: blocks, circles or ring. The screen stays on and the time is calculated against the clock, so it does not drift. Everything runs in your browser.

How to use it

  1. Pick Classic or Tabata mode with the tabs.
  2. Set the preparation, round, rest, rounds and, in Tabata, the tabatas, the rest between tabatas and the cool-down.
  3. Choose the countdown view (blocks, circles or ring) and turn the sound alert on or off.
  4. Press START, which shows the total time, and follow the countdown. You can pause and resume, or go back with the arrow.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Classic and Tabata mode?
Classic mode chains a preparation and several rounds with their rest. Tabata mode repeats that block several times, with a rest between them, and ends with a cool-down. The typical Tabata scheme is 8 rounds of 20 seconds of work and 10 of rest, and here you can change any value.
How is the total time calculated?
It is the sum of all phases: the preparation, every round, the rests (there is no rest after the last round of each tabata), the rests between tabatas. The cool-down is not counted. A phase set to 00:00 is skipped and does not count.
Why does the screen not turn off?
While the timer runs, the page asks the browser to keep the screen on (Wake Lock). If your browser does not support it, the timer keeps working but the screen may turn off. It is best to keep the tab visible so the beeps sound on time.
Is my data saved?
Only the mode, the view, the sound and each mode's settings are saved, in your browser. The timer state is not saved and nothing is sent to any server.
