- Are the generated IBANs real accounts?
- No. They have the structure and check digits of a valid IBAN, but they are created at random and the tool does not check that the account exists. Use them only as test data.
- Why might a form reject a generated IBAN?
- The tool meets the country structure and the MOD-97 check digits, but not the national check digits of the account, such as Spain's or the French RIB key. A form that checks them may reject it.
- Which countries does it support?
- The 42 countries in the selector, including Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Portugal, the United Kingdom and Brazil. It does not cover the whole IBAN registry.
- Which errors does the validator detect?
- Unknown or unsupported country, wrong length for that country, characters that are not allowed, a wrong BBAN structure and wrong check digits.
